El Paso Fire & Police commit $2 million to energy fund

El Paso (Texas) Firemen & Policemen's Pension Fund committed $2 million to EnCap Energy Capital Fund IX, a private equity oil and gas fund managed by EnCap Investments, according to recently released minutes of the Dec. 19 board meeting.
The $1.1 billion pension fund had a 1.82% allocation to private equity as of Nov. 30. It committed $2 million to the predecessor EnCap fund.
Robert Stanton, executive director, was not available by press time for additional comment.
