State-Boston Retirement System on lookout for emerging markets equity

State-Boston Retirement System is searching for at least one emerging markets equity manager to run about $258 million, according to an RFP posted on the website of NEPC, the $3.4 billion pension fund's investment consultant.

The pension fund has that amount invested in emerging markets equity now and “up to half may be invested with each potential manager,” according to the RFP.

Proposals are due at 1 p.m. EST on Feb. 8. A timetable for a decision could not be learned by press time.

Daniel Greene, executive officer of the retirement system, could not be reached by press time, and a phone call to NEPC was not returned by press time.
