Tim Gascoigne was appointed head of alternatives at Allenbridge Investment Solutions, according to CEO Odi Lahav.
The position is new. Mr. Gascoigne will report to Mr. Lahav and will be based in London.
Allenbridge, a specialist alternatives consultant to institutional investors, is expanding as a result of recent trends of institutional flows into alternative asset classes, Mr. Lahav said in a telephone interview.
“Certainly inflows have continued in alternatives such as hedge funds, private equity and real estate, and there's increasing interest in areas such as infrastructure and the more esoteric investments. Diversified growth funds are another area where investors are looking” for sustainable risk-adjusted returns, Mr. Lahav added.
Mr. Gascoigne was previously global head of portfolio management at HSBC's alternative investment group, and left the company in the first quarter of 2012.
