Goldman Sachs Asset Management picks international leader

Sheila Patel was named head of international, overseeing European and Asian businesses, at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, according to a Tuesday GSAM internal memo obtained by Pensions & Investments.
It is a new position.
Ms. Patel, a partner and currently co-CEO of Europe, the Middle East and Africa at GSAM, will keep her duties in EMEA but will add leadership of the Asia-Pacific ex-Japan business, according to the memo. Ms. Patel will move to Singapore from London.
Andrew Wilson becomes the sole CEO of EMEA.
Ms. Patel takes over from Oliver Bolitho, who will become chairman of GSAM Asia-Pacific. Mr. Bolitho will focus on key existing and prospective clients in the region and will report to Ms. Patel, according to the memo.
