Illinois State Board of Investment, Chicago, on Tuesday launched searches for a general investment consultant and a real estate consultant.
Respondents can bid for either or both roles, according to the RFP.
Marquette Associates, incumbent in both roles, can rebid.
The board, which oversees $11.7 billion, has a 10% target allocation to real estate; 8.6% of assets, or $1.01 billion, is now invested.
The RFPs are available on the state's website.
Proposals are due Dec. 14. ISBI plans to make a decision March 22.
