Heath Mottram was named head of fixed income and liability management at the Universities Superannuation Scheme Investment Management, which manages the £34.2 billion ($54.3 billion) USS, Liverpool, England.
The position is new.
Based in London, Mr. Mottram will report to Roger Gray, CEO of USSIM and chief investment officer of USS. According to an e-mail from Mr. Gray, Mr. Mottram will “develop the investment activities in government and non-government bonds, liability hedging and the treasury function for the scheme.”
Mr. Mottram is expected to join USS at the end of November from Russell Investments, where he is director and head of fiduciary management in the U.K. and Ireland, according to a Russell spokesman. His responsibilities will be assumed by members of the existing team, the spokesman said.
Mr. Mottram joined Russell in November 2011.
