Emerson Electric plans $150 million pension plan contribution

Emerson Electric Co., St. Louis, plans to contribute about $150 million to its U.S. defined benefit pension plans in its current fiscal year, ending Sept. 30, 2013, according to a transcript from the firm's fiscal fourth-quarter earnings conference call.
As of Sept. 30, the firm contributed $163 million to the plans in the last fiscal year and $112 million a year earlier, according to SEC filing.
The firm's fair value of U.S. pension plan assets totaled $3.182 billion as of Sept. 30, 2011, while the projected benefit obligations totaled $3.466 billion, for a funding ratio of 91.8%, according to its most recent 10-K filing.
Company spokesman Mark Polzin did not return a phone call for further information by press time.
