Fifty-five percent of respondents to a P&I Online survey last week expect to vote for Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney in Tuesday's election.
Thirty-nine percent of respondents expect to vote for President Barack Obama. The balance either expects to vote for another candidate or will not vote.
The Pensions & Investments audience's response is in stark contrast with national polls. Mr. Obama led Mr. Romney 48% to 45% in an Oct. 31-Nov. 3 national poll conducted by the Pew Research Center, a survey that was deadlocked at 47% each a week earlier.
Yet Mr. Obama continues to hold an edge in many of the battleground states. Separate polls show him leading Mr. Romney 49% to 46% in Pennsylvania, 50% to 48% in Ohio and 47% to 42% in Iowa, according to Bloomberg News reports Monday.
