Alberta Local Authorities Pension Plan, Edmonton, is searching for a firm to provide actuarial services for the C$21 billion (US$21.1 billion) fund, confirmed spokeswoman Sheri Wright.
Incumbent Mercer is invited to rebid. Mercer's five-year contract expires at the end of the year.
The selected firm will establish actuarial assumptions for the plan and provide annual accounting and funding valuations and general actuarial consulting services, according to the RFP. The contract will be for five years, starting Jan. 1, with two two-year renewal options.
The RFP is available on the Alberta Purchasing Connection, a provincial procurement website. Proposals are due at 3 p.m. MST Nov. 16. Finalists will present to the board on Dec. 3, with a hiring decision expected by the end of the year.
