Housing starts rise 5.7% in September, up 27% from a year earlier


Data released by the Commerce Department on Wednesday revealed that September U.S. new home sales rose 5.7% from the prior month, and 27.1% from a year ago. The median price of a new home fell 3.2% from a month earlier to $242,400, but was up more than 11% from the same period a year ago.
