Honeywell contributes $256 million to pension fund in Q3

Honeywell International Inc., Morristown, N.J., contributed $256 million to its U.S. defined benefit plans in the third quarter, according to its latest earnings release on Friday.
Estimated pension contributions will total $1 billion in 2012, Honeywell's earnings report showed. The first-quarter pension contribution was $256 million and the second-quarter contribution was $267 million, according to earlier releases.
Honeywell's 2011 U.S. defined benefit plan contributions totaled $1.05 billion, putting plan assets at $12.836 billion as of Dec. 31, according to its annual report.
