Maine Public Employees Retirement System, Augusta, hired Windham Capital Management to run $250 million in a multiasset portfolio, confirmed Andrew Sawyer, chief investment officer at the $10.9 billion pension fund.
The portfolio utilizes Windham Capital's “risk regime” strategy, using the firm's Windham Investment Risk Cycle model based on proprietary measures of market turbulence and systemic risk.
Funding came from reducing some of the pension fund's index fund holdings, Mr. Sawyer wrote in an e-mail. No managers were terminated.
