Nevada Deferred Compensation Committee pulls back Hartford offer

Nevada Deferred Compensation Committee, Carson City, plans to renew contracts with incumbent bundled providers ING U.S. Retirement and Hartford Retirement Services, withdrawing an offer made in July to hire Hartford as the sole provider for the state's $566 million 457 plan and $17 million FICA alternative plan.

The committee voted Sept. 20 to withdraw the offer, confirmed Reba Coombs, deferred compensation program coordinator.

An RFP for a single provider was issued in March.

The contracts for ING and Hartford currently expire Dec. 31, and the committee is conducting contract negotiations with the two firms for renewal.

Ms. Coombs, who started in her position on Monday, could not provide further details and referred questions to Scott Sisco, chair of the committee, who was not available by press time.
