Sacramento County pension funds taps Townsend to consult on real estate

Sacramento County (Calif.) Employees' Retirement System hired Townsend Group as real estate consultant, according to recently released minutes of the $6.1 billion pension fund's Aug. 16 board meeting.
It is the first real estate consultant for the pension fund.
Hewitt EnnisKnupp and Pension Consulting Alliance were also finalists.
The pension fund has a 12.8% actual allocation to real estate and a 15% target allocation.
Scott Chan, chief investment officer, did not return a telephone call by press time for additional information.
