Hawaiian Public Land Trust seeks investment consultant

Office of Hawaiian Affairs, Honolulu, is searching for an investment consultant for the $345 million Native Hawaiian Public Land Trust Fund, confirmed David Okamoto, senior investment analyst.

Incumbent Absolute Plus Advisors is invited to rebid, Mr. Okamoto said in an e-mail. Its contract expires Dec. 31.

The public land trust fund serves as a perpetual trust and provides financial resources for OHA programs, initiatives and operational expenses, according to the RFP. The selected firm will also provide a chairman for the investment advisory committee.

The RFP is available on the state's procurement website. Proposals are due at 4 p.m. HST Nov. 9. A hiring decision is expected on Nov. 23.
