Louisiana Teachers pension fund looks to assign small-cap growth equities

Louisiana Teachers' Retirement System, Baton Rouge, will soon search for an active domestic small-cap growth equity manager to run about $200 million, confirmed Dana Brown, director of public markets.

The $13.7 billion pension fund's board approved the issuing of a solicitation for proposals at its meeting Tuesday. The SFP, which will be posted on the pension fund's website sometime next week, is being issued based on the recommendation of investment consultant Hewitt EnnisKnupp.

The search is being conducted because Hewitt EnnisKnupp thought now was an appropriate time to put this strategy out to bid, Mr. Brown said.

Current manager Perimeter Capital Management is invited to rebid.
