Abu Dhabi Investment Authority names private equity investment executive

Colm Lanigan was named head of principal investments in the private equities department at Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, according to a news release from the fund.
The position is new. Mr. Lanigan will report to Hareb Al Darmaki, executive director of ADIA's private equities department.
Mr. Lanigan was founder of New York-based private equity firm Tara Capital, where he was managing partner.
ADIA's target for private equity is between 2% and 8% of total assets, according to its annual report. According to Sovereign Wealth Fund Institute, ADIA has an estimated $627 billion in total assets.
