John C. Siciliano joined PricewaterhouseCoopers as a managing director in the firm's global asset management consulting practice.

The New York-based position is new.

Mr. Siciliano comes to PricewaterhouseCoopers from Avondale Strategies, the money manager strategic consulting firm he set up in early 2011 after leaving his posts as senior managing director and CEO of investment boutiques with New York Life Investment Management in late 2010.

In a telephone interview, Gary Meltzer, PwC partner and leader of the firm's North American asset management consulting practice, called Mr. Siciliano's experiences as a senior executive in the industry and a consultant a “tremendous combination” as PwC looks to continue building out the strategic consulting segment of its practice.

That will add to a full-service lineup where PwC might already be advising money management firms on areas ranging from risk to technology to operations.

In the same interview, Mr. Siciliano said for a firm such as PricewaterhouseCoopers, which has relationships with the majority of the top 100 money management firms globally, an expanded strategic offering “helps set the table for a broadened dialogue.”

Mr. Siciliano said he has closed down Avondale Strategies.
