Employee tenure up nearly 25% from 2002

Data released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics on Tuesday reveal that the median number of years that wage and salary workers had been with current employers increased to 4.6 years in 2012, up from 4.4 years in 2010. The biennual survey, which is part of BLS' Current Population Survey, also revealed that workers age 25 years and over who had 10 years or more of tenure with their current employer increased to 33.7% from 30.8% in 2002.
