Robert Mancini will join The Carlyle Group as managing director and co-head of the $1.1 billion Carlyle Infrastructure Partners fund during the fourth quarter, according to a news release Monday from the firm.
Carlyle Group announced Sept. 7 that it would acquire the North American power-generation assets of Cogentrix Energy from The Goldman Sachs Group (GS) using assets from the Infrastructure Partners fund, according to a joint news release at the time.
Along with the assets, Mr. Mancini, who now is a Goldman Sachs managing director and CEO of Cogentrix, and other unnamed Cogentrix professionals will join Robert Dove, founding co-head, in managing Carlyle Infrastructure Partners, according to the Carlyle news release.
Terms of the Cogentrix acquisition were not disclosed.
