Insured Retirement Institute names new chairman, officers

Larry Roth, Advisor Group president and CEO, was named chairman of the Insured Retirement Institute's board of directors.

Mr. Roth said in a statement that IRI's strategic growth includes expanding influence with policymakers “to achieve the advocacy goals most sought by the financial services industry … I am eager to expand our reach.”

Also elected were John Carter, president of Nationwide Financial Distributors, as vice chairman; Thomas Streiff, executive vice president and retirement product manager for Pacific Investment Management Co., as secretary; and Robert Moore, president and COO of LPL Financial, as treasurer.

Lynne Ford, executive vice president for Calvert Distributors, is the outgoing chairman.

IRI also named seven new board members: Maliz Beams, CEO of ING U.S. Retirement Services; Michael Falcon, managing director and head of retirement for J.P. Morgan Asset Management (JPM); Bruce Ferris, executive vice president of sales and distribution for Prudential Annuities; Drew Lawton, executive vice president and head of retirement solutions for New York Life Investments; Bill Lowe, president of Sammons Retirement Solutions; Mr. Moore; and Paula Nelson, president of Forethought Distributors.

The Washington-based IRI represents major insurers, money managers, broker-dealers and financial professionals.
