State Street Global Advisors appoints 1st global COO

Greg Ehret was named global chief operating officer at State Street Global Advisors, confirmed spokeswoman Alicia Curran Sweeney.
It is a new position.
Mr. Ehret was executive vice president and head of EMEA at the firm. He will be replaced by Mike Karpik, senior managing director. Mr. Karpik will remain in London, while Mr. Ehret will move to Boston.
Jamie Kase, head of sales and marketing, left the firm as a result of the reorganization of responsibilites.
