Denver Employees Retirement Plan is searching for consulting and reviewing actuaries, confirmed Steven Hutt, executive director of the $1.8 billion pension fund.
Incumbent consulting actuary Gabriel Roeder Smith & Co. and reviewing actuary Milliman are invited to rebid.
The consulting actuary will perform annual valuations, a one-time experience study and, if a new firm replaces Gabriel Roeder, a full replication audit of the Jan. 1, 2012, valuation. The reviewing actuary will review the experience study, perform a high-level peer review two to three years after the experience study is completed and perform a full replication audit of the next valuation if Gabriel Roeder is rehired, according to the RFP.
The contracts are for five years, starting Jan. 1.
The RFP is available on the pension fund's website.
Proposals are due at 5 p.m. MDT Sept. 24. A hiring decision is expected on Oct. 19.
