Alexandre Voitenok joined Acadian Asset Management as a senior vice president and portfolio manager, focused on the firm's long/short strategies.
The position is new. Mr. Voitenok will report to David Kane, director, long/short strategies. Roughly $1.2 billion of Acadian's $48.4 billion in assets under management as of March 31 was in long/short strategies.
Mr. Voitenok has been consulting with State Street Global Advisors since leaving his post as a portfolio manager with Gartmore Investment Management in Boston last year, said Nigel Adam, a spokesman for Acadian. Mr. Voitenok left Gartmore shortly after Henderson Group announced it would acquire Gartmore Group.
