Despite positive 2011 private equity returns, Harvard reportedly seeks to unload investments

Harvard University is seeking to sell $1.5 billion of private equity holdings, 4.7% of the endowment's total assets as of June 30. The fund - which has been unloading illiquid investments since the financial crisis - outperformed the Cambridge Associates private equity index by 140 basis points in fiscal 2011.
