Nicholas Warren was named chief investment officer of Waltham, Mass.-based Brandeis University's $672 million endowment fund.
In a telephone interview, Mr. Warren said he replaced interim CIO Alison Svizzero, who was named a director of investments at Children's Hospital Boston. Ms. Svizzero had replaced Deborah Foye Kuenstner, who was named CIO of the $1.42 billion Wellesley College endowment, Wellesley, Mass., in February 2009.
Bess Andrews, a spokeswoman for Children's Hospital, couldn't immediately be reached for further comment.
Mr. Warren was a managing director in the hedge fund practice of investment consultant Cambridge Associates, which counts Brandeis as a client. In a statement, Cambridge said Mr. Warren's duties “will be transitioned to other senior colleagues at the firm.”
