Luis Fleites joined Chatham Partners, a provider of customized research to money management firms, as vice president and director of multiclient research.
The position is a new one.
In a telephone interview, CEO Peter Starr said while Chatham’s core work remains research conducted for specific clients, the hiring of a veteran such as Mr. Fleites will allow further focus on syndicated market studies, which have accounted for roughly a quarter of the firm’s business.
Mr. Fleites comes to Chatham from Financial Research Corp., where he served as a vice president and director of retirement markets.
FRC is implementing a new organizational structure, and Mr. Fleites’ replacement will be one of a number of new executives overseeing different subject-matter areas to be named in the near future, Chairman Bob Hedges said in an interview.
On Monday, as a first step in that reorganization, James A. Graves was named senior vice president of research management at FRC. The position is a new one.
Mr. Graves was managing director of marketing at FundQuest. FundQuest spokeswoman Maren Powers wasn’t immediately available for comment.
