2009 Liability Driven Investing Conference

A FREE one-day conference for pension plan sponsors, endowments, foundations & pension fund consultants

Get Insight & Answers on Liability Driven Investing from Industry Experts

Liability Driven Investing (LDI) has become widely accepted as a practical and effective risk management framework, as it focuses on matching a plan’s investments to its expected liabilities rather than on outperforming benchmarks. LDI continues to grow in popularity as many companies are rebalancing their plans to limit equity exposure in light of today’s market environment.

LDI can be suitable for plan sponsors with a diversity of plan sizes, risk tolerances and interest-rate views, but it is not a one-size-fits-all solution. LDI requires a customized approach that identifies and addresses the critical issues for each plan that seeks to implement the strategy. In this time of economic uncertainty, defined benefit pension plans are searching for ways to better manage risk and hedge against the likelihood of funding shortfall. LDI can form part of the solution, but it is a dynamic process that must be fine-tuned in the face of changes in market composition.

This series of conferences will address issues such as:

  • When does it make sense to implement LDI?
  • How do you make sure your plan liabilities will be sufficient to meet obligations?
  • Rebalancing the LDI portfolio – ways to ensure that your plan works with the market, not against it
  • Implementing long-dated fixed income portfolios today
  • Managing the pension fund in an overall corporate context
Join P&I for the fourth annual Liability Driven Investing Conference to learn more about how you can ensure that LDI works for your plan from start to finish.
