Helen Young Hayes, portfolio manager and CIO at Janus Capital Management (JNS), will retire on June 16. Ms. Hayes, who manages the Janus Worldwide and Overseas funds, joined the firm in 1987. "Now is the right time for me to retire,” she said in a statement. "In the last two years, we’ve made tremendous strides in strengthening the investment team as well as the overall company.”
Mark Whiston, Janus CEO, said Ms. Hayes has left an "indelible stamp” on Janus.
Laurence Chang, co-portfolio manager of the Janus Worldwide fund, and Brent Lynn, co-portfolio manager of Janus Overseas, will be lead managers for those funds. Two other members of the international team, Doug Kirkpatrick and Garth Yettick, will assist Messrs. Chang and Lynn, respectively.
