Ken Corba was hired by PIMCO Advisors as managing director and CIO for a new equity investment management division, PIMCO Equity Advisors.

The new division will assume responsibility in the second quarter for managing three PIMCO equity funds now managed by its subsidiary, Columbus Circle Investors. Dennis McKechnie of Columbus Circle, who manages the funds, will work for the new equity division.

Mr. Corba previously was CIO at Eagle Asset Management, which is actively seeking his replacement, said Brian Lee, director of marketing.

He added that Eagle and PIMCO agreed that Mr. Corba will continue to manage the institutional separate accounts and mutual funds at Eagle during the transition period
