Chief Investment Officer
The Chief Investment Officer (“CIO”) will be a key member of the Texas Tech University System (“TTUS”) leadership team and will directly report to both the Chief Financial Officer (“CFO”) and the Investment Advisory Committee (“IAC”), which acts as the liaison committee to the Board of Regents of TTU (“Board”). The CIO will be results-focused, striving to obtain the highest possible returns on the funds of the TTUS consistent within the risk tolerance established by the Board and the IAC.
The CIO will proactively manage an endowed portfolio which currently approximates $800 million (“Endowment”). With respect to the endowment, the CIO will work with the IAC to determine an appropriate risk profile, benchmark(s), asset allocation(s), and assist in spending policy decisions and implementation. The CIO will lead the Office of Investments in the identification and selection of external managers in accordance with the guidelines established by the IAC. The CIO will monitor TTUS’s investments and strategies, together with economic and market trends, to assist the TTUS in making appropriate asset allocation decisions and exercising oversight of manager selection decisions by the CIO.
The CIO’s responsibilities will include management of the investments of TTUS to ensure that the TTUS is able to meet all of its liquidity requirements. The CIO will also be responsible for management of the investment office of TTU.
Salary plus performance based incentive bonus dependent upon experience and qualifications.
