Chief Financial Officer
OPERS, the 12th largest statewide public pension fund, located in Columbus, OH, is searching for a strategic financial leader as its Chief Financial Officer of this $74 billion fund. The former CFO was promoted to Executive Director. This is a signature opportunity and a highly visible and high impact position serving some 900,000 members.
The CFO reports to the Executive Director and is responsible for managing the finance division, including administrative services, a total staff of 120. As a member of the senior leadership team, the CFO contributes to executive level decision-making, including strategic planning, budgeting and priority setting, trustee relations, and staff development.
The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of broad based public sector finance experience (GASB, financial reporting, investment accounting, and actuarial funding concepts) and 5 years in a senior financial leadership role. A Bachelors degree (Masters preferred) and a CPA are required. Experience in a public pension fund is preferred.
